From the first minutes Russia seized the initiative, and the play moved into the Canadian zone. 14 minute after the beginning of the match Dmitrii Lisov managed to find Ilia Volkov at the far post and he made a goal. The second period began in mutually acute attacks. Several dangerous scoring chances were created by a team of Terentev-Varlakov, but a goal was not made. In the third period the defender of “Ugra” Vasilii Varlakov managed to bring down the score. But this fact did not decide the match. As a result the score was 3:2 for the Canadians. In the semifinals the USA won from Norway with the lopsided score 6:0. As a result the Russian team had to fight for the bronze medal in the match with the team of Norway, Canada and the USA played for the first and second places. The match with Norwegian team was not easy. A minute before the end of the first period Sergei Panfilov took up a good position near the net and he scored a goal. In the second period the opponent managed to level the match. And till the end of the regulation time the score was changeless. In the overtime Ilia Volkov threw a winning puck after the pass made by Vasili Varlakov. The score is 2:1 and the Russian team takes the third place of the World Championships again. The USA team won from the Canadians with the score 3:0 and became the winner of 2015. It should be reminded that the World Championship was held in Buffalo (the USA) from April 26 till May 3.
