The final of country sledge hockey championship was completed. “Ugra” won in five matches and took the second place. “Phoenix” ofMoscowOblastwas 5 pointsahead. The third place was taken by the team of Udmurtia. It may be said that the result of the final of Russia championship of this year was determined after the first match with the main opponent – the team of “Phoenix” of Moscow Oblast, most players of which are the members of the national team. “Ugra” had a difficult task – to win in three pucks. Only in such case our team could be the leader of the season because “Phoenix” held the first place after the first stage of the championship. But the match developed in the other way. “Ugra” lost to “Phoenix” in overtime with the score 2:1. Then “Ugra” won match after match – with: “Phoenix - 2” - 8:0, with Udmurtia - 2:1, with Orenburg – 15:1, with Moscow “White Bears” - 3:0, with Moscow “Star” – 6:0. “Phoenix” played with the same success. According to the results of the competitions three players of “Ugra” were included in top ten goalscorers. NikolayTerentiev takes the first place, he made 11 goals and 10 passes. VasiliyVarlakov is the forth in the top list – 8 goals and 4 passes, Aleksey Petrov is on the fifth place – 7 pucks, 3 passes. Aleksey Lysov (“Phoenix”) became the top defenseman, IlyaVolkov (“Phoenix”) became the most valuable player of the championship and AndreyKasatkin (Udmurtia) – the top goaltender. According to director of sledge hockey club “Ugra” Eduard Isakov following the results of Russia championship and the season of 2014-2015 in whole, the coaches will be organized for discussion of team play. “We should correct mistakes, evaluate the level of athletes training, determine both positive moments and nuances which will be worked on in order to become leaders in the next season.” The final of Russia Championship was held from February 24 till March 4 in Aleksin city of Tula Oblast. 7 teams: “Udmurtia”, “Phoenix” (Moscow Oblast), “Ugra”, “white Bears” (Moscow city), “Star” (Moscow city), Skyhawks” (Orenburg Oblast), Phoenix-2 (Moscow Oblast) took part in the competitions.
