At the FishtStadium 40 thousand viewers watched in one breath the show which took place on the scene during two hours. The animation film “The Firebird” was shown at the stadium’s large screens. It flew near the Sun, above Chukotka and taiga, Baikal and Ural highlighting the sky and earth. The countdown began and the firework lights fell from under the roof. Then people in white, blue and red costumes marched simultaneously, united and formed the Russian flag waving in the breeze. Then people carried out the flag of the Russian Federation. Like from under the ground in the central lift Russian combined choir which sang the hymn of our country appeared. Suddenly the choir turnedthecapes down and appeared before the viewers in colorful national costumes of the residents of different regions of Russia. In the center of the stadium the table with glass tumbler standing on it and representing “glass organ” was lifted. The music from the ballet “The Nutcracker” by Tchaikovsky played. At the same time more than 500 ballet dancers drew snowflakes figures on the scene. TheFirebirdswereflyingabovethem. Acrobatsinlargetransparentspheres moved on the scene. The parade of athletes began. The viewers greeted the participants of the Paralympic Games with loud applause, crew, waved the flags and whistled. The representatives of Ukraine were greeted standup. The participants from China came to the scene with China and Russian flags. Russian athletes appeared the last as the hosts of the Paralympic Games. Andtheviewersgaveovations. Fictitious forest beingsandFirebirdsaccompanied the athletes to their seats at the stands. Disabled girl YuliyaSamoilova sang the song “Together” on the scene. 300 fishermen with fishing poles and lamps appeared before the viewers in the darkness. The fishermen with dancers on wheelchairs among them created figures on ice. The dancers dressed in red, blue and green costumes depicted the Paralympics emblem and introduced the appearance of the Paralympics flag on the scene. The combined choir sang “You are Russia, Mother Russia”. The guests gathered a wedding table made of ice. And here appeared a large icebreaker which made a great furor. It cleared a path through ice blocks. The actors greeted the last participants of the Paralympic Torch Relay. Aleksey Ashapatov, our famous Ugra athlete, appeared the first on the scene. He passed the baton to the following torchbearers. In this moment many viewers left the stands and ran outside. Exactly there it could be seen how the Paralympic fire was burnt. TheParalympicGamesbegan. 40-thousandstadiumexulted. “I visited two Paralympic Games but it was the first time when I visited the opening ceremony. – Eduard Isakov, deputy of the Duma of Ugra, director of Ugra Adaptive Sports Center, comments. – I am proud of our Motherland, our athletes. Here came many people, it was difficult to get tickets to the Games, and it points the fact that people are interested in the Paralympic movement, the Paralympic Games break the barriers.
