This morning there was held the match Russia – Italy. The game was quite smooth. During the first two periods the score remained unchanged. “At the beginning of the third period Dmitry Lisov dropped a goal. Four minutes later Konstantin Shikhov faced off the goaltender but made a bad shot. The Italians storm the goalmouth. Vasiliy Varlakov sheltered the empty goals with his chest twice. The atmosphere was charged, it was at the edge of bursting. And when it left only three minutes to the end Konstantin Shikhov was sent out. The Italians have changed the fifth goaltender. The puck was skating over the goal line. Our goaltender Mikhail Ivanov showed his best, he saved the game! Our guys hold out in the struggle and won a victory!! Italy is the reigning champion of Europe! Khanty-Mansiysk sportsmen are great!” Aleksandr Zykov, head coach of the Ugra Sledge Hockey Club, commented the game.

The game ended with the score 1 to 0 for Russia. The USA - Czech Republic event will decide our rival in the semifinal.
