“Ugra” lost in shootouts Yeaterday on March 2, the sledge hockey team of Ugra lost 3:2 to “Polar Bears” in its first final game of the Championship of Russia.

Yeaterday on March 2, the sledge hockey team of Ugra lost 3:2 to “Polar Bears” in its first final game of the Championship of Russia.

In the first minute of the match the opponents kicked the puck to Ugra team. The score in the first period was 1:0.

In the second period at first our sledge hockey players tied the score thanks to the puck of Vasiliy Varlakov and then began to lead – captain of the team Konstantin Shikhov made the second goal.

The score in the second period was 2:1.

But in the middle of the third period goaltender of Ugra conceded the puck of “Polar Bears” and the score of the game became 2:2.

In overtime period both teams held the fort and the score remained draw.

Then a series of shootouts was announced. At first the team tried to kick three shootouts each but the goaltenders of both teams returned the pucks. Then there was a repeated series of three shootouts, then – two more shootouts, but the score was not changed. And in the ninth shootout the fortune was on the side of the team from Moscow.

On March 2 the game between the teams of Mytishchi and Primorsky Krai also took place. The score of this game was 25:0 for Mytishchi, and “Phoenix” of Moscow Region beat “Udmurtia 2 to 0.

Finally, according to the results of the first day of the competition the teams of Ugra and Moscow Region hold leading positions with equal 13 points. Udmurtia has 12 points, Moscow team ended the fist day of the championship with 10 points and “Mytishchi” – with 6 points.

Today the sledge hockey team of Ugra meets the team of Primorsky Krai.
